Scott,

What file(s) need to be changed / edited to get rid of the red against pax/grsecurity if your on a vds and hence not running the asl kernel?

Also is it possible to edit the file to also remove the critical error?

A good option would be in the asl config you can select no to the asl kernel and hence remove these alerts.

Thanks!

You cant "disable" a vulnerability. Just because you cant fix it, doesn't mean it goes away.

No, I think he has a point Scott.

The idea of having the red crosses is to alert you to a problem you don't know about.

If you always see red crosses for these things then you'll ignore them, and end up potentially ignoring a real problem in another category because you have become used to seeing red crosses.

So by having an option to "disable" (or dim or whatever) these particular alerts for VPS users, which the user will know they are vulnerable to since they are in a vps, the user will be able to more easily identify trouble when it happens.

Or have I misunderstood the problem?

Faris.

I doubt that this would overwhelm anyone... besides being overwhelmed is a risk too.
