Heya Scott,

Do you have RPM's for Postgresql for 3ES and PSA 7.1.x?

If so, which channel should I use to get them.

[root@gz root]# rpm -qa |grep postgresql
rh-postgresql-devel-(none)-7.3.6-7
rh-postgresql-libs-(none)-7.3.6-7
rh-postgresql-python-(none)-7.3.6-7
rh-postgresql-(none)-7.3.6-7
[root@gz root]#

My CP says that the server isn't installed...???

postgresql-server Component was not installed

Thanks.

Yeah I do actually, in the base/updates channels. Those are really from Whitebox linux, but they should work on your system

I seem to remember that they changed the name of postgres in 3ES. You'll have to "yum search" it (didja know you could search with yum?)

Once you said search and that 3es has named postgresql differently, I remember the results of my rpm -qa grep and did a yum search rh-postgresql and low and behold, a listing of postgre stuff. Installed rh-postgresql-server and it is as right as rain.

Now, how do I setup both tomcat and postgresql to start on a server up. They are there, and I have to start them manually on a server reboot.

Thanks.

run setup, goto System Services, and tag the ones you want to start up

Like I pasted earlier, postgres under 3ES is "rh-postgresql...." I dont personally use postgres on my servers (or tomcat) so you'll need to figure out the nitty gritty on your own. I just know they use a different naming convention on 3ES than they do in RH9
