This is not specific to ASL or ASL environments but because we are recommending this to our other customers where desktop issues are our responsibility we present this to our AtomiCorp customers that may have adobe installed on their desktops.

Quote:
A critical vulnerability has been identified in Adobe Reader 9 and Acrobat 9 and earlier versions. This vulnerability would cause the application to crash and could potentially allow an attacker to take control of the affected system. There are reports that this issue is being exploited.

A patch will reportedly not be available until March 11th, so to protect yourself from this issue we recommend that you disable JavaScript in Adobe. This will prevent malware from being able to exploit this vulnerability. If a piece of malware tries to own your box Adobe WILL still crash, but you should not be infected by the malware. So if you see adobe crash, you know someone just tried to infect your machine.

We are therefore highly recommending to our customers that they DISABLE JAVASCRIPT in all their Adobe Acrobat [Reader] products. You have the choice of a small loss in functionality versus your systems being compromised.
