Hi,

Noticed tonight that my web gui of ASL on my server is down. Chrome and IE is reporting connection time out, yet the SSH access is fine. Running ASL -s reports no issues at all.

I'm a little foxed, as apart from running updates every night, I've not made any changes to the server at all.

Help.

Hmm....just a guess, but try

service tortixd status

to see if it is running, and

service tortixd start

to start it if it isn't running.

I'm not sure why we have gone from asl-web to tortixd, but I'm sure scott and mike had their reasons ;-)

I *presume* it is safe to do this, given that it is just an instance of an httpd server.

I just checked and I note that tortixd isn't watched by psmon. Scott/Mike -- is there any particular reason for this?

Faris.

Thanks Faris and Mike. It was indeed tortixd, and it wasn't running.

2 questions though, why the switch to tortixd? and will tortixd service auto start next time the server is rebooted?

It should, but you can check it yourself:

Code:
chkconfig --list tortixd

The output should look like this:

Code:
tortixd           0:off   1:off   2:on   3:on   4:on   5:on   6:off

It doesn't? This should fix it:

Code:
chkconfig --level 2345 tortixd on

Changing the name gets around people who try to trick you by excluding updates named *httpd* in yum configs. (I'm looking at you cpanel.)
