I purchased ASL last week after we were hacked and after several attempts to get it installed, we can't and submitting a support ticket does not get results.

Since the installer script does not complete, how do we uninstall what's there? We're getting things like:

In the logs and I had to re-compile PHP because all my sites were getting other errors.

We really need to get ASL un-installed until we can get it to install cleanly.

No idea what generates that message, not ASL thats for sure. With that said, that looks like some kind of script that alerts you if a process is a alive for more than 1800 seconds. The "tortixd" daemon is the ASL GUI daemon, so there is nothing wrong with it running for longer than 1800 seconds.

A daemon its supposed to run forever (like apache for example, or bind, sshd, etc.) so there is nothing wrong with it "running longer than 1800 seconds". You wouldnt want apache to shut down after 1800 seconds for example. So, whatever is generating those messages is wrong. There is nothing wrong with your system. I recommend you either disable whatever is generating those messages, or configure it to ignore things like tortixd.

If tortixd is running then that means ASL installed.

The install never completed due to script errors so, I don't know if ASL is up or not and the uninstall script isn't there probably due the install not completing.

I submitted the following case #'s 11491 and 11498. One was close and one moved to the Bugs tab. The uninstall doesn't work because the script to uninstall was never copied since the install quits/breaks.

So I'm looking at both cases, and it looks like you opened the bug report (not our support team) which isnt going to get a same day response. So in the future, just open a case and we'll sort out if a bug report does or does not need to be opened. Cases go to the response team, bugs go to development so when you did that it became a low priority.

So always use a case if you need help now.

Case 11491 looks like you just asked if we could install ASL. I don't see any errors reported.

I recall that issue being addressed earlier this week for cpanel systems. What happens when you run the installer now:

Whats the command you used to run the installer (make sure you use the wget command, and dont save the installer just pipe it into sh) and what version of the installer did it report?

What version of the installer does it report?

I think it was 3.06.

Run the installer again, we need to know the version number. Its updated quite frequently and I know that issue was addressed at least once in a recent update.

I'll need to wait until late tonight to mitigate any server downtime risks and the PHP errors that cropped up last time I installed. Had to use EasyApache to re-compile PHP and re-install. Something about a UTF-8 error on the perl regex PHP module.

Quick question, how can I get my hands on the uninstall.sh before I re-run the installation. This would be handy just in case something goes wrong to un-ravel this.

Its part of the asl rpm, we dont have a way to distribute that one separately right now.
