This is probably the dumbest question that anybody has ever asked in this forum, but I'll ask it anyway because it is driving me nuts :?

Why is the time on the ASL GUI 1 hour ahead for my server's time?

ASL GUI TIME:
Atomic Secured Linux 3.0.31-1.el5.art
05 Aug 2012 @ 07:51 PM

SYSTEM TIME FROM SSH:
[root@iwx1 ~]# date
Sun Aug 5 18:50:26 CST 2012

Thanks,

Rodrigo

There's a timezone setting in *ASL*'s php.ini, or a lack of one, which is causing the issue.

viewtopic.php?f=3&t=5840&p=33969

The ASL php.ini is at /var/asl/etc/php.ini and you'll need to restart tortixd after editing it.

Thanks to Kalimari for the details.

Thank you faris,
But no go :(
I did everything that is said in that post by Kalimari.
Yes, I changed date.timezone to my zone (according to PHP time zones) and I restarted tortixd
Nothing changed, ASL still shows one hour ahead of my system time :(
I even placed a really far away zone (Europe/Copenhagen) to see if the clock would change to a drastically different zone.
No change, it still showed 1 hour ahead of system time.
In my case, it seems the date.timezone variable in /var/asl/etc/php.ini does not change anything.
Yes, I restarted tortixd after each change, and did a fresh login into ASL GUI also.... and waited an hour to see if that would do it.

Any more ideas?

Thanks for all the help,

Rodrigo

Try this
Quote:
/path/to/asl/php -i | grep timezone

Should tell you what timezone tortix is actively using

It returns it correctly as:

# /var/asl/usr/bin/php -i | grep timezone
Default timezone => America/Costa_Rica
date.timezone => America/Costa_Rica => America/Costa_Rica

But the ASL GUI time is still 1 hour ahead of system time (and our local time)

Weird :?

Any more ideas?

Thanks

Rodrigo

I guess this issue will remain in mystery for some more time.

how about setting it to a timezone that's one hour behind you? Does it do any good?
I'm sorry -- I can't test from here. computer problems. I can barely function at the moment - browsing forum is about the best I can do.
