Guys I have plesk 9.5.2 and I see that the ftp backup will not work.
I can normally backup on the server repository.
I can also see and delete files in the ftp repository so the settings are definitely correct.

What happens is the file is only 1.95kb always and I see a failed in the current backup tasks for each daily backup.

Anyone who knows why is this happening ? Also is there some specific backup error log plesk keeps in order to understand whats wrong ?

this seems to be common with the plesk upgrade, as many have reported the file shown in the plesk interface to be small, 1.95k (this is an xml file) whereas the actual ftp repository files are correct in size....whether any of this process is working seems to be the concern of all of us, and are the backups really usable?
There has been a response from the plesk people regarding this (in their forum), not a solution, but rather an acknowledgement of the situation...it is being looked at.

whoops they did it again :P
haha

Tragic. I download every day backup on my workstation ...

And also I noticed another freaky thing with the backups !
If you upload a backup from a domain and this domain isn't setup on the server you cant see it ! So if you have a user uploading every day backups from another server from a domain that doesn't exist on this server you may end with a full hdd and have to seek what happened.

Also does anyone know if you go and delete from the shell backup for domains that don't exist will there be any inconsistency on the system after wards ? Does plesk "link" backup files on sql ????

Parallels doesn't define this in their documentation...
